Every edition of the Programme Policy and the Privacy Policy we have published. Superseded editions stay here permanently and are never edited, so anyone who accepted an earlier edition can read exactly what they agreed to. Each is downloadable as a PDF.
Version 2026-09-20
Effective 20 September 2026
Reduces the flat service charge from USD 50 to USD 15 per payment, in the Funder's favour. How the charge is worked out is otherwise unchanged: it is made once per payment however many Students that payment funds, and 7.5% still applies only to tuition above USD 10,000 in that payment. Every payment now costs USD 35 less than under the previous edition. The Privacy Policy is unchanged.

Version 2026-09-14
Effective 14 September 2026 · superseded 20 September 2026
Adds an Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions section to the Programme Policy. It sets out that SEPAfrica is registered with SCUML; that Funders must pay with their own lawfully obtained money; that Awards are paid only to the Student's own registered Wallet and refunds only to the original payment method; that Awards must not be returned to the Funder; that we may hold, refuse or reverse a suspicious payment and suspend the accounts involved; that we report suspicious transactions to the NFIU as the law requires; and how to report a concern. The Privacy Policy now records that these anti-money-laundering duties apply to SEPAfrica as well as to our Payment Partners, and that Students are emailed when a new Scholarship Call opens, which they can turn off in Settings.

Changes how the service charge is calculated, in the Funder's favour. The 7.5% rate now applies only to tuition above USD 10,000 in a payment, rather than to the whole amount once that threshold was reached. A payment of USD 10,000 or less is unaffected and still carries the flat USD 50; larger payments cost less than under the previous rule. The Privacy Policy is unchanged.

Version 2026-09-11
Effective 11 September 2026 · superseded 12 September 2026
Corrects what the Programme Policy said about custody of tuition: where our Payment Partner cannot settle to a Student's territory, SEPAfrica receives that Student's tuition and remits it, rather than never holding it at all. Confirms that the service charge and the Payment Partner's processing fee are added to what a Funder pays rather than deducted from a Student's Award, and separates both from what a Student's own bank may charge on arrival. States that a Scholarship Call is an invitation rather than a promise of funding, and that an unfunded or abandoned Call creates no claim against SEPAfrica. Records that a tuition Award now has a minimum but no maximum. Sets out that we may update this Agreement at any time, that an update binds you once published and notified, and that an update never reaches back to an Award already paid for. The Privacy Policy is unchanged.
